Ties by Karson Eskeland, this is a nymph variation of the Purple Haze dry fly. The dry fly and nymph get their names from the striking purple body and thorax, which may or may not imitate the natural hues of insects during certain life stages.
Regardless of whether or not this is an attractor or an imitator fly, it’s one that always finds a place in our fly box because we love the name. Oh… and it catches fish too. That helps.
